Oakland Raiders extend Derek Carr's contract

The Raiders have been patiently waiting for a franchise QB to come along, and now it seems like the wait has been worthwhile.

In a monster of a deal worth $125 million over 5 years and making him the highest paid NFL'er to date, the Raiders have signed Carr to a contract extension.

Carr has had a fantastic start to his career, throwing for over 11,000 yards and 81 touchdowns versus 31 interceptions, and has continued to show improvements to his game and abilities. The Raiders playoff hopes last season ended with Carr's broken fibula.
